My son...

The other day I was online shopping... What?! Me?! Yes me, I was online shopping at h&m and I saw some really nice men's clothing. I mentioned to my husband with my children in the room that I wished he would let me dress him up in some new clothes like the men on the h&m website. Some background first on my handsome husband. First off he's a sports junkie-he played sports all his life, baseball, basketball, tennis, and he dresses sporty all the time. Even on church days he will be wearing a Kobe Bryant shirt and cargo shorts. This man has owned the same cargo shorts for almost all the time I've known him. Anyways back to my asking him to improve his dressing skills... My son overheard me asking my husband and he says "mommy that's not good, you have to like someone for who they are. You have to love daddy for the way he is." Now how did my 6 year old son learn this? I don't know but I know that somehow he did and I'm glad that he taught it to me.

October 2013 Ipsy bag

Just got my ipsy bag today is a good mail day as opposed to bad mail day=bills! This months theme is "The art of beauty". Here are my first impressions.
From left to right:
First, Style Sexy Hair spray clay-I used to use Paul Mitchell spray wax a lot, because it smelled great and really loved the way it texturized my hair giving it a more piecey look if that makes any sense? Anyways, this is a little similar but not as good as the Paul Mitchell. I will have to test it more to give a better review.
Next I received, Nourish Organic Coconut and Argan body lotion-I do not smell much coconut in there while putting it on but I do smell the coconut after it has dried, also after putting it on my hands were very shiny from the Argan oil-it's nice not amazing. I think it would be great for summer when you are wearing skirts and shorts and want that sheen on your skin but not so much in the fall or winter.
The third item is the Zoya polish in the color Neve-a dark purple almost black. I love Zoya's smooth application and quick drying and long lasting formula.
The fourth item is a Bella Terra mineral shimmer in the color Emotion-a shimmery plum. According to Bella Terra's website it's multipurpose mineral shimmers can be used as lipstick, blush, nail polish and of course eyeshadow. This color is pretty and perfect for fall and I plan to try using it as a polish and a lipgloss. I will post this monochromatic look when I try it out.
The last item is the Coastal Scents medium eyeshadow brush. I've used coastal scents eyeshadows before, I have three of their 88 palettes but I have never tried their brushes and this one is very soft and dense, it reminds me of a Stila brush I used to have and I loved that one.
I'm most excited about the eyeshadow brush because I will probably use this the most out of all the items from this months bag, also the nail polish because I'm already familiar with the Zoya brand and I do not own any colors like this, I'm least excited about the body lotion because it's not very moisturizing and I would've preferred a cream since fall and winter are super drying seasons for my skin but I will keep this in my purse since it's a good travel/purse size and I don't have any lotions in my purse at the moment. This months ipsy bag is really great I will be able to use all of these products so the $10 was well spent!

Let me fill you in...

When I first decided to start a blog, I don't think I thought it through very much. I knew that I wanted to share my thoughts, family activities and my love for shopping and makeup and all things girly. I didn't expect to share pictures or do anything important...but looking back at the few posts kind of makes me feel sad. Although I love reading them-there's only 3 to look at!? I guess time was really scarce when my daughter had arrived-but, I wish I had made time to because it's all the small details that make the difference. Also everyday is so easy to forget when we are constantly living in a world of tomorrow's! I will try to fill you all in on everything in between- I will write down as much as I can remember from that last post.

December 2010- Isabella was born..three weeks early but I just couldn't wait any longer and apparently neither could she. She decided to have some fun playing jump rope in there and she got her legs all caught up on the umbilical cords so she was brought into the world via emergency c-section. It was quite scary I was worried about my daughter and if she was going to be born healthy and I was nervous because I had never been opened up before... The doctor was worried that Izzy couldn't breathe and rightfully so since my water had already broken. I was put to sleep during the c-section and when I came to in the recovery room I was able to finally see her-it was amazing just that same feeling I had when I saw Grayson for the first time. My princess had arrived!

January 2011-

After giving birth to Isabella we decided as a family that we would stay at my parents house. My mom wanted to help me take care of Grayson and Isabella so she was able to get time off from work and take care of me while I was recovering from my c-section. Isn't it good to have a Mommy even as an adult they still take such good care of you.

After a few weeks I was feeling better and during this time my husband had told me that our home loan was about to adjust and that we would need to move. My mother in law was willing to help us by letting us stay in one of her homes that she rents out, her tenants were leaving so we it was perfect timing. Also I know my mother in law wanted a chance to spend more time with her grand babies and this house is only 5 minutes away from hers. I feel so blessed that I am surrounded by such a supportive and loving family. So, we moved in and have been staying here since. I miss our first home-we lived there for 5 years and that was the house that Grayson had all of his "firsts" in.

So much has happened in this house-Isabella's first steps, First words, all of her milestones were here. It's just amazing that it all happens so quickly. Grayson is attending kindergarden close by and is learning so much. Our family is happy and healthy. Each day is a new thing-we have our ups and down like everyone else but I know God has blessed us.

Better late than never...

So this year's Christmas cards needed to be done like last week! Since I'm almost 9 months pregnant I have an excuse also I really don't love dressing up right now because my bump is hugemongous. But, this is probably the last time I'll have to show off my belly before little Izzy makes her debut. So I'm a little excited about that. This year I think we're going to do a Santa Clause picture at the mall (wait did we do that last year? oh well sitting next to an super huge man in a red suit always makes you look smaller so that's always in fashion for me!)-so we'll probably end up squeezing that in this weekend. I was making my Christmas gifts for the grandparents this year at Shutterfly-check out what one looks like below of Grayson's Year 2 book. Anyways, I saw their new Holiday designs are up and are really adorable! I can't wait send them out!!! I especially love the "Oh Holy Night" Christmas card! I love the way the black makes the pictures really stand out and even more if we're dressed in red. I love the card because there are 3 spaces for pictures-Which is perfect to fit one picture of Grayson, one of the family and I was thinking of putting the ultrasound picture of the baby girl due just a few days before Christmas. I also love that this is a folded card and has lots of space to write down what's been going on in the Torre Family's lives for 2010 and to wish all of our friends and family a Happy new year as well. Here's the link to the Holiday card we will be choosing this year:

Halloween and I'm posting early...

This Halloween was fun! First off, this afternoon we went to the pumpkin patch and Grayson just loved it so much. He wanted to pick up and eat all the pumpkins no matter how big they were. He's so funny this boy thinks he's Superman or super-strong anyway. I have to put up a pic of him trying to lift a pumpkin that's the size of his whole body. Then he went in the bouncy houses and played with two other little girls that were also in there. They had a blast my boy is such a flirt too, because he kept hugging them. ADORABLE! Then we went to Grandma Chit's house to meet up with our family. Cousin Madi was dressed as Minnie Mouse and Grayson dressed up as Manny Pacquiao. They were cute, most people just thought he was a boxer/fighter but, some people actually knew who he was dressed as. So it was very fun and tomorrow is going to be a long day because it's my BIL's wedding shower. This is the first time I'm posting before midnight!
